Smallholders' Festival

What a wonderful event at which to have a stall. There was so much interest and buzz about the whole place, it was just great to be there. We set up a table of leaflets, photos and general information alongside Trish’s mini-wall. Her on-going demonstration attracted a lot of interest and a number of folk, mainly younger ones, had a go.

There were people from quite far afield and we chatted to a few from various parts of Aberdeenshire where there appeared to be interested in training, offers of sites and information given about places where courses had been run the past.

Round about us were people informing about so many things, from rare breeds to woodlands, demonstrating weaving with cloth and willow and selling a variety of goods from home made orange juice to live chickens. In the main market area were to be found rare breeds of horses, (including an Eriskay pony), cattle, sheep and alpacas.

A great day out for all the family. I hope we can go back again next year.
