Marybank Farm, Members’ Event 15th June

Eight members, under the supervision of Gregor Smart were involved in the reconstruction of the Bellounth at Marybank Farm, Logiealmond.. They were Trish W, Jim G, Fraser S, Richard P, Barbara N, Oliver C.A. (owner) and Billy F, guest, who has completed level one and is a bricklayer, who wishes to do more dry stone work.
We intended to work 2 days, but the combination of an amazing turnout and the owner’s fantastic preparation with a digger and a plentiful supply of stone allowed us to get going immediately. We repaired both sides of the bellmouth in a day, in pleasantly cool dry weather. Our hosts looked after us well and the location was delightful, with long views to the south towards the Lomond hills.
Everyone had a satisfying day, the owner was delighted and we were glad of a day off on Sunday.

The above photos show the various stages of the process’ before, during and after was well as in use.
