Dungarthill May 13th, 14th
This was a return visit to finish last years projects and begin another.
Tricia Waite, Bill Thomson, Robert Dunlop and Gregor Smart were the members over the weekend with Archie, our host working with us.
Firstly, a 3mtr section of wall was coped, then we had a gateway to a field to complete. With two cheekends to build that kept us busy for a fair bit of Saturday. It was grand entrance indeed when completed.
Later and again on Sunday we continued downstream to a different wall, taking down and repairing any collapsed sections.
There was plenty stone but a lack of good builders and an abundance of hearting which took a bit of working out.
It was great dyking weather over the weekend and we got through a lot of good work, with relocating a family of toads being part of the job.
We were somewhat restricted with a fence to one side and a burn on the other, however we got a good rhythm going and the repair looked great.
Thanks again to Archie for looking after us well.
There are many more similar repairs required here and we look forward to returning again.
