Burmieston Farm - field wall repairs 15th, 16th April

On Saturday, 15th April we had our first walling event of the season. Oliver, our host , asked us to start on a retaining wall at the back of the house. Gregor was supervising , and Trevor was a tremendous assistant . Oliver and Trish were the rest of the labour force and Bill joined us on Sunday.


Space was limited between a high bank and the back of the house, made more difficult with scaffolding erected for roof work. Lots of earth and stone needed clearing before we could make a start, all the while ably distracted by ever curious 6 year old Ethan , two chickens and 2 dogs - Taz being part of the entertainment.

We had to clear much of the stone up the bank, tackling some huge lumps.

The weather was kind and we made a good start ready for our return later in the year .

Our hosts looked after us well as usual.

Kate joined CSB in 1994 and has served on the committee for the last 14 years as member, Secretary, Treasurer and Chairwoman. Holds the Initial (Level 1) qualification .Currently as an ordinary committee member, she makes site visits, is contact person for events and helps make up the programme.
