Boundary Wall Repairs at the Garden House, Dungarthill - 31st July & 1st August

A challenging weekend for pensioner wallers, but our enthusiasm was amplified by our hosts Archie and Muriel with great hospitality, good weather and a lot of heavy lifting from Archie, assisted by Bill Thomson .

Archie and Bill manoeuvre a large stone into place. One of many during the weekend.

Trish and Dorothy worked on a old section of wall, which decided to take itself down rather faster than they had intended. As a result Trish was left a bit damp as she fell into a small burn; a bit bruised too, but unbowed. They continued to build to try and retain the bank of the gulley up to the roadside wall- lots more careful work needs to be done there.

Meanwhile across the road big stones were being persuaded into place in the boundary wall and Ann and Kate had plenty of available small stone to heart and fill the gaps. On day two Bill , Archie and Trish continued to cope height and finished some of it.
