Blackruthven Training Course 19th-20th May

Blackruthven is always a popular venue and the month of May means potential trainees are hopeful that the weather will not disappoint. This year their hopes were fulfilled. Did I hear someone say that Saturday was too warm for walling? Martin agreed to take on ten trainees, but in the end there were the usual eight. Three travelled from north of Inverness, while the rest were more local. Martin Tyler instructed and Trish was is able assistant and branch contact.

Comments from a trainee:

I must congratulate the Association and Martin in particular for a great, informative course. There was really interesting cross section of trainee, all with their own projects/reasons for attending.
Martin was an excellent instructor who acknowledged the failings of trainees in a pleasant manner. It was obvious he wanted us all to succeed, and I think the group achieved the goal Martin had set.

Martin's all inclusive style was great. I will definitely look at a refresher course in the future. I have completed my own small walling project and, although I broke a few rules, due to inexperience, it gave me a huge amount of pleasure. Tom, who attended with me, has been quite impressed!

Colin Sleight.
