5th Aug Drummond Estate

The sun shone! Not too often the case at Drummond, but as always events organised by Willie are good fun as well as a great learning experience.

This year we were building up the banking on another section of the burn, ensuring the water could flow more freely unimpeded by weeds and noting how important it is to allow spaces between the stones and thus avoid a build up of water in periods of heavy rain.

It was interesting to see how much last year’s work had become a natural part of the landscape. We heard from Willie about the estate and the trees which form part of the grounds, inspiring us to pay a visit to the castle in the near future. Thanks too to Casper and Taz for keeping us entertained.
