Central Scotland Branch AGM 4th November, 2017.
The end of the year was marked with the AGM which was held in Luncarty Church hall. After a delicious soup, sandwich and cake lunch the group got down to business.
Calum Williams gained his DSWA Instructor certificate, which will greatly benefit branch training days.
Malcolm Collins gained his DSWA Intermediate / Level 2 certificate after only 2 years with the branch.
Three trainings courses with a total of 30 trainees resulted in 3 new members of the association.
A healthy bank balanced was mainly the result of professionals waiving fees and a few generous donations. Some surplus funds will be used to support community projects, possibly one being set up by DSWA to promote walling in Scotland.
It was unanimously agreed to deregulate from OSCR and revert to being a ‘true’ branch of the Association.
The new committee was elected. All current members will remain on the committee, with the addition of Malcolm Collins. Kate Armstrong will pass over the role of Chair to Billy McCallum.
John Dobson received the Loyalty Award for once again being the member who attended most events.
Malcolm Collins received the most Improved Member having achieved Level 2 in only his 2nd season.
The meeting ended with members being given the opportunity to preview and comment on the website, which has been set up by Malcolm. All agreed this was a very positive step forward and would greatly enhance the way in which the branch reached current and potential new members.
The AGM minutes can be found in our Governance section.
